Hello everyone! I hope you are all looking forward to the Tet holiday and have lots of exciting plans.

We have been featured on the Saigon Children's Charity website....

    Mai Tam HIV shelter

The lessons we prepared for Mai Tam HIV childrens shelter have been really useful to the volunteers. They have repeated the lessons in several other local shelters thanks to the Sunshine Volunteers network sharing resources. So a big thank you to Dana, Kerry and Andrew!

    Water park with the sisters

This week Dana and I were taken to the water park by our little sisters and their school friends at 7am.

It was wonderful that they wanted to share the time off with us and their friends were really excited to have westerners in bikinis available for throwing in the pool.

The girls even prepared a picnic lunch of pate and egg sandwiches followed by watermelon. I'm sure I was never that organised at that age!

    Cinema experience at Binh Loi

We were excited to help with the Tet gift giving at Binh Loi shelter for children. The shelter was blacked out(using lots of sheets) and we made a cinema for the children to watch independant short animated films (thanks to a projector and a bed sheet).  They were so happy!

    Get involved!

    • We are looking for teachers who would like to play football with disadvantaged students on a weekly basis - the pitch and transport is fully funded

    • Donations of books, toys, are clothes are still very welcome. Even old books can be sut up to make flashcards.

    • Little sisters and brothers are ready and waiting for you to adopt them and have a great time.

    • What does Vietnam mean to you? Could you express it in a photograph? Look out for a photography competition for students, teachers and TAs after the Tet holiday......

Please get in touch if you want to join in with the fun! Happy holidays!
